Parenting starts with conception.

Our lab’s research vision is to understand how the pluripotent/multipotent cell populations of the early mammalian embryo inherently possess the capacity to respond to environmental changes through adaptive developmental plasticity. To this end, we investigate how regulative intrinsic mechanisms can rewire default developmental trajectories and how these changes self-perpetuate to lead to adult onset disease which can expand across future generations, as captured in the globally recognized Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) concept.
